Discussion and debate are the lifeblood of any vibrant political club, the fulcrum of any successful political party, and the foundation of any healthy democratic society. We at the Sydney University Liberal Club celebrate the diversity of opinions and the intellectual breadth contained within these pages, and within the Club in general. Indeed, whether our annual John Howard Debating Cup, or just a yarn over a couple of drinks, it is engaging conversation about issues big and small - the issues that matter - that drives our Club.

If you are an existing member, we hope that you enjoy reading the thoughts and opinions of our contributors, and perhaps in time contribute thoughts of your own to our brand new SULC blog up on the club website.

If you aren’t, then we hope this publication has given you a glimpse of the exciting opportunities for discourse SULC offers. There is plenty more where it came from, and you can find it by joining our Club.

Finally, this publication was the result of many hours of hard work and inspired writing from our own amazing members, whose insights I’m sure you’ll appreciate. Our thanks go out to every executive or general member of the club who contributed - couldn’t have happened without you.

Disclaimer: none of the articles contained within reflect the official political position of the club; they only represent the personal views of the contributor.
